We are excited to share that we have 39 out of the 89 children sponsored at the church plant in the Dominican Republic. We are still looking for 50 more sponsors to make a difference in these children’s lives. To put it in perspective, the average cost to raise a child in America is $233,610 from birth to 18 years old. Sponsoring a child costs $38 per month. For just $9000 over 20 years the entire course of a child’s life and their family’s life will be changed. We want you to know that this ask does not come out of a place of guilt or shame but as an invitation.
Jesus says in John 15 that his commandment is that you love one another as he has loved you. And “If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. I have told you these things so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.” We gain our lives by giving it away. We put everything in the hands of Jesus trusting that he will use it for his kingdom and in turn, our joy will be complete.
What are you able to give away? Each of these children listed below are real children who live in the same village as the church we helped plant. With your sponsorship they will be able to receive medical, spiritual, emotional and physical care. None of this can happen without you. Take a moment to pray and ask God how you can make a difference. For $38 a month the trajectory of these children’s lives will be changed not just on this earth but eternally.

The Compassion Journey Online will take you on a journey with a girl named Patience. Patience is a real person who traveled through poverty and reached hope on the other side. There will be six stops on your journey with Patience. It will take you about 15 minutes and is appropriate for all ages, so gather anyone near you together to participate. Our hope is that you’ll grow in a deeper understanding of what it’s like for children living in difficult conditions around the world.
