Love Fullerton // APR 23

Hi All- We are so excited for this year’s Love Fullerton Serve Day this coming Saturday, April 23rd.  Here are the details you will need to know:

8:00 AM- Meet at Fullerton College Quad (321 E. Chapman Ave.  Parking will be in the Fullerton College parking structure off Lemon)  This is where you will turn in your waiver (we will have copies available or see attached)  and get your T-shirt.  There will also be FREE breakfast.

8:45 AM- Head to Raymond Elementary School for our work project.  (517 Raymond Ave.)
We will be doing work in the garden area as well as some painting and other projects around the school.  Please bring gloves, hat, sunscreen, gardening tools for weeding, shovels

12:00 PM- Head back to Fullerton College Quad for FREE lunch!  (321 E. Chapman Ave.  Parking will be in the Fullerton College parking structure off Lemon)

Rooted  // APR 24

Rooted starts this Sunday! We will be starting our Rooted class this coming Sunday, April 24th at 9:00 am.  We will be meeting on the 3rd floor in the conference room.  Rooted is a 10 week class that covers the basics of our faith and connecting with God.  This first class will be a brief introduction and overview of the material and you are welcome to just come and check it out and decide if it is something you want to continue with.  Please email bryan@wilshireave.com if you have any questions.

WA Kids Celebration Sunday // APR 24

This is a Sunday your kids will not want to miss! Encourage them to invite their friends to roll out of bed and join us for a fun Celebration! This will be a fun Sunday for them to invite their friends to church!

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) // MAY 04

At MOPS, we gather moms. We believe in the simple but revolutionary idea that remarkable things happen when moms come together. That’s why we rally women, in their own neighborhoods, to help them become more brave, kind and honest, one gathering at a time. So, whether you are a soon-to-be mom, first-time mom or seventh-time mom, you are welcome!

MOPS meets in person on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month from 9:15 – 11:15 AM.

DATES: 
 May 4 & 18, June 01

COST:
Mom = $50
1st child = $45
Additional child(ren) = $40

WA Kids First Friday // MAY 06

Our 3rd – 5th graders are invited to “First Friday” every first Friday of every month from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. They will be able to hang out with their friends and grow in their faith. Dinner will be provided

Baptism // MAY 15

Baptism is an important step in following Jesus. It symbolizes one’s death to sin, burial of the old life, and a resurrection to new life in Christ. Just as Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose to life again. Jesus commanded His followers to make disciples and to baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We will be holding baptisms at church on May 15.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”      – Matthew 28-18:20

Park Clean up at Byerrum Park // MAY 15

We have been going as a larger group to clean up once a month at Byerrum Park on the corner of Chapman and Raymond and it has been a great opportunity to love and bless our city.  During the next few months of April and May we are unable to go as a large group because they are using the fields on Sundays for soccer.  If you as an individual or family are able to go on your own at your convenience and help to pick up trash at the park that would be wonderful.  If you do go, please send me an email at bryan@wilshireave.com to let me know you went so I can let the city know.

Child Dedication Class // MAY 15

If you have a little one that you would like to have dedicated join Pastor Kellie at our Child Dedication Class in the Under ground lounge after the 10:30AM service on Sunday, May 15 at 11:30 AM.  Lunch will be provided.

Helping Hands Family Camp 2022 at Thousand Pines

Fri, May 27, 2022 3:00 PM – Mon, May 30, 2022 12:00 PM 

We strive to provide the finest Family Camp California has to offer, complete with a chapel experience for all ages. Our chapel times offer something for everyone, with our guest band leading a worship time for the whole family, followed by age-specific Bible teaching. Adults and teens stay in the chapel to hear from our guest speakers while children are dismissed to their classes for activities and lessons. Plan your afternoon free time together; enjoy a nap, take advantage of the local attractions, have a blast at our recreation venues, and join an old camp tradition of preparing our camp for the seasons ahead. We will have a work time where you and your family can join a team for a Saturday work project!

Sunday Morning Welcome Team

 We have been having more and more new people joining us here at Wilshire Avenue and we are looking for more warm and friendly faces to help us at our 10:30 worship service to welcome people as they come to worship with us.  We ask that you arrive at 10:15 and help to greet people, handout bulletins and any other items we may have.  If you are interested in helping on a rotation (doesn’t need to be every week), please email angie@wilshireave.com

Reading program at OC United

GriefShare // Tuesdays

This has been a tough season, we all have things to grieve. GriefShare, is a support group for people grieving any kind of loss. Fresh Hope // Wednesdays

Fresh Hope is a new group that we are starting here at Wilshire for anyone who is currently experiencing or has had a mental health challenge as well as families members of those with a mental health challenge. Colombia Church Plant

God is doing amazing things at the church we helped plant in Colombia. The building is currently under construction but that hasn’t stopped the believers there. The church is making a difference in the community and meeting under a tree to worship and have service. Please continue to pray for Colombia as their COVID numbers have increased recently.
