Christmas Plans

With Christmas just around the corner it’s important to recognize the true meaning of the Holiday and enjoy time with friends and family. Every year our Christmas Eve service is wonderful, not because of what we do, but because of Who we proclaim. We want to equip you to welcome your friends, family, and neighbors to hear the good news that they can be forgiven of all their sins and experience peace with God through Jesus. The Christmas Services will be a worship service for all generations with a message from Pastor Rob.

Our Christmas Services this year will be on:
– Sunday 12/20 at 4:30 pm
– Wednesday 12/23 at 4:30 pm
– Thursday 12/24 at 3 pm & 4:30 pm

Please note, we will still have service at our normal times on Sunday 12/20. At 9 am we will have a Traditional Carol Sing and at 10:30 we will have a contemporary service.

Childcare will be available for children ages 2 through 5th grade at all of the services except for the 9 am service on 12/20.

Please make sure to RSVP at wilshireave.com/christmas

Online Christmas Concerts

Although we are not able to have an in person Christmas we are excited to share our online Christmas Concert with you. The concert will be broken up into 2 parts. The first concert will be premiering on YouTube on December 5th at 11 am and the second concert will be available on December 12 at 11 am. The concerts will remain on YouTube for you to watch at your convenience. We also have many Christmas hymn sings for you to enjoy that will be released over the coming days. Feel free to share the link with your friends.

You can find all of these hymn sings on our Wilshire Ave Traditional YouTube page or at wilshireave.com/christmasconcert.

Advent Devotional

Each day of Advent we have a short devotional prepared for you to read. Before starting the guide make sure to read the introductory material.

You can read the devotionals here.

If you would prefer a printable copy you can download it here or pick up a printed copy in the church office during the week or at church on Sunday morning.

We also have ideas for how you and your family can celebrate advent together using this family advent guide.

Cold Weather – Coat Drive

Over the next few months as it is getting colder, we will be collecting gently used coats and jackets to give out to those in need at our Food Bank and in the community.  If you would like to donate any used coats or jackets they can be dropped off in the bin next to the church office Monday-Friday between 9 am – 4 pm or on Sunday morning to one of the services.

Take a Moment – Forgiveness

EXPERIENCE AND RECEIVE GOD’S FORGIVENESS IN YOUR LIFE.
If we don’t truly grasp or recognize how much God has forgiven us, it makes it harder for us to work toward forgiving others. We must remember that God’s Love and Forgiveness is infinite!

“It seems to be the case that those who are not able to forgive have never come to an understanding how much they have been forgiven – for the more understanding we have of the grace that we have received the deeper our gratitude and the greater our capacity to forgive other people.”

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Colossians 3:12-13

Take a moment to ask God if there’s anyone you need to forgive this Christmas season.

Give

The purpose of tithing is to teach us to always put God first in our lives. God doesn’t need our money. He wants what it represents, 1) our gratitude, 2) our priorities 3) and our faith.
